After my bestselling novel Clan of the Horses was published in 2010, I almost immediately started to write my next novel. And like with the first one, I took my time.
The short version is that when I spent 15 years writing my first novel, I wanted to let the readers in on what 25 years with horses had taught me. And with my new novel the ambition was to dig even deeper. I have based the narrative on my 40 years spent with horses. Having said that, this is in many aspects a story about relationships. Not just human to horse, but human to human.
My new novel Før løvet faller (Before the Leaves Fall) was published in Norway in October 2025, and I am immensely proud to announce that my new novel it has just been acquired by the Norwegian Arts Council. This prestigious selection ensures its availability in all Norwegian public and school libraries, representing a profound testament to the book’s literary quality – an honour and a rare distinction afforded to only a select number of authors.
With the novel nearing a sell-out, a portion of the sales revenue will be dedicated to funding the English translation of my first book – something I have been wanting to do for years. Currently looking for the perfect translator and predict the novel will be available by fall 2026. ❤️ To be continued –
PS: My English podcast’s publication rate has been affected by the extensive work on the novel, but I plan to return to regular episodes going forward.
